This article was originally planned to be published in early October! It's November now, and I've yet to actually properly finish this page! Today, we are going to discuss on what I've been up to.
The aforementioned "up to":
...
Wait, I haven't made anything? No art, stream plans, videos, et cetera? What gives?? You gave me 5 dollars on Twitch for nothing?! You deleted your Substack for this?!!
Now, hold on there. Today, I've actually managed to make the first post! Which means that today, I've decided to announce that I am going to make this website active, AND I am announcing that the early stages of the next videos are starting.
Linux, Marble platformers, life tracking? Oh dear!
We're going to discuss these topics in order. They may or may not be related to my upcoming video over on YouTube, click here to view my channel if you haven't yet.
To start, why did I switch to Linux? Because I want to learn and become more intimate with my computer.
That sounds weird, not in that way I swear! I mean that I want to not only use my computer as my workstation, but also my free-to-tinker hobbyist toolbox! And the unfortunate reality is that I prefer the tools and workflow of the Linux desktop over Windows 11 as of right now.
For further perspective, and this upcoming fact may make less sense towards my goals initially if you are a long-standing diehard Linux poweruser, but the distribution I have chosen is Linux Mint 22, an OS that has served amazingly towards my needs.
I want to save my thoughts, challenges, and many other ramblings for future videos and blog posts. I still have a lot to learn, but I have already found my new tech home.
My favorite game is Marble Blast. There isn't a transition here.
This franchise deserves a lot more recognition for pushing digital games as a medium as a good thing! It's certainly one that I have childhood nostalgia for. However, I will save most of my thoughts and details of the entire franchise (MAYBE including Marble it Up as well) in a future YouTube video.
You can watch many other videos on this franchise, though! And, you can play several open reverse-engineered remakes of the game online. If you are new, I strongly recommend Vanilagy's website! It hosts Marble Blast Gold, Platinum, and Ultra levels, as well as providing support for custom levels too! Works great as a local webapp too, so you can play offline.
Will you be posting here actively?
I sure flippin' hope so! Neocities is a wonderful platform, and it is really awesome to be able to post on a static website like this! In the future, I may say goodbye to Neocities in the event of needing a website upgrade, but I don't see that happening anytime soon.
If you would like more "instantaneous" updates, please follow my Bluesky page, as that is the ONLY SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORM, outside of Discord, that I am active in. If you want to support people like me who love rambling about these types of things, consider throwing some cash over at my Ko-fi page. Thank you guys for reading!!!
Also, I'll try to add RSS support here sooner than later. For now, new posts will be announced on Bluesky and YouTube community posts. Take care and have a wonderful evening (or morning)!
